Our inaugural High School Fellowship welcomed rising 10th and 11th grade NYC public high school students to the W.O.W. studio for 3 weeks of art-making, collaborative discussion, and neighborhood exploration in July 2025.

High School Fellows got to know each other through collaborative games and activities, including a Chinatown neighborhood scavenger hunt.

Fellows learned about the natural history of lower Manhattan with KL Mays, drew portraits of each other in a workshop with Singha Hon, and visited the African Burial Ground to discuss monuments and memorials.

Fellows took a field trip to learn about the history of graffiti at the Museum of the City of New York on the Upper East Side.

Singha Hon returned to lead a still life drawing workshop, and Sasa Yung led a recycled papermaking workshop in the W.O.W. studio.

HSFs learned about the history of zines and made their own publications to share at the final showcase.

Week 2

Week 3

Fellows planned and prepared for their final showcase at the W.O.W. storefront, including contributing to a group zine, shopping for and preparing fruit skewers, and creating their individual art projects!

At the showcase, they interviewed each other about their individual projects and celebrated their time together.
