Beyond our core programs, our work responds to community needs in real-time. We host panels, community gatherings, and intergenerational projects that build solidarity and use art to make sense of the changing neighborhood around us.

SELECTED PROJECTS

  • A large group of people protesting on a city street, holding signs and banners supporting Palestine and opposing displacement and genocide, with some people playing drums and wearing masks or hats.

    Anniversary

We invite the community to celebrate W.O.W.’s anniversary each summer with free public programming.

    In 2026, we’ll be celebrating 10 years of W.O.W.!

    Residencies

We’ve hosted community-based artist and makers’ residencies over the years — read about the artists who have worked with us.

As of 2026, we are not currently hosting residencies.

  • Bridging Futures

    2021–2022:

An intergenerational archiving cohort project that used the now defunct Chinatown-based art publication Bridge Magazine to explore lessons from the Civil Rights era for current Asian American activism.

  • A handwritten note on a paper reads 'Love Letters to Chinatown' with Chinese characters, surrounded by hearts, with a hand drawing a heart at the bottom. There are two stamps, a bowl with water and coins, a tangerine, and a purple-gloved hand holding a pencil on a pink background.

    Love Letters to Chinatown

    2020:

A community project collecting love letters to businesses and institutions in the neighborhood in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
