2026: Arts, Crafts, and Urban Studies High School Fellowship
W.O.W. 's High School Fellowship welcomed rising 10th and 11th grader NYC public high school students to the W.O.W. studio for 3 weeks of art-making, collaborative discussion, and neighborhood exploration in July 2026. We were so excited to bring back a fellow from last year's inaugural cohort to help mentor and guide this year's fellows.
High School Fellows got to know each other through collaborative games and activities, including a Chinatown neighborhood scavenger hunt.
Fellows learned about the natural history of lower Manhattan with KL Mays, explored the history of youth power in NYC, and made stop motion animations with Darcie Wu.
Week 1
Fellows discussed issues New Yorkers face like the cost of living and housing, why they matter to them, and potential solutions to these systemic problems. They also explored a variety of artmaking practices with guest teaching artists including zine making with Di Binuya-Murray and Jia Sung, woodblock printing with Print Pals.

Fellows planned and prepared for their final showcase at the W.O.W. storefront, including contributing to a group zine and creating their individual art projects!
