Notes from RRR Year 2024–2025
Using the guiding theme of speculative futures, fellows explored topics including the ongoing Borough Based Jail plans, bell hooks' education as a practice of freedom, artwashing and gentrification, and Asian American history. Guest teaching artists facilitated workshops on papermaking, countermapping, illustration, poetry, and linocut.
Neighborhood engagement: The fellows held a community papermaking workshop at Seward Park Library, led artmaking activities at W.O.W.'s Lunar New Year Arts Afternoon at Abrons Arts Center, collected confetti with the community during Super Saturday, and held a final showcase and panel at Chatham Square Library.
